This one had a few layers to it. The customer's Tundra was running a new supercharger setup, and that kind of power upgrade doesn't just bolt on clean - it creates a chain reaction of things that need to be addressed underneath. The exhaust routing, sensor placement, and intake all needed attention to work properly with the new forced induction setup.

We started with the exhaust. Resonators were welded in to smooth out the tone and reduce unwanted drone that tends to come with a modified system. That's not just a comfort thing - on a boosted truck, getting the exhaust flow right actually matters for how the engine breathes. The welds were laid out on the fab table before anything went under the vehicle, so we knew the fitment was solid going in.

The O2 sensors had to be relocated. When you change the exhaust routing, the factory sensor positions don't always end up in the right spot anymore. Wrong placement can throw codes, mess with fuel trims, or just give the ECU bad data to work with. We moved them to proper positions in the new piping so the truck's computer stays happy and reads accurately.

On top of that, the cold air intake needed to be rerouted to clear everything correctly with the supercharger in place. A custom enclosure with a mesh vent opening was fabricated to house the filter - keeping it protected and pulling clean air without conflicting with the new setup. Everything under the hood routes cleanly now, which matters both for function and for not creating headaches down the road.

That's really what custom fab is about. It's not just cutting and welding - it's thinking through how every piece interacts with the rest of the system. When a build has this many moving parts, the details matter a lot.
