Full Exhaust Retrofit on a V8-Swapped Nissan Xterra PRO-4X

V8 swaps are a blast - until you realize the factory exhaust routing has absolutely nothing to do with your new engine. That's the reality with a lot of custom builds. The engine goes in, everything runs, and then you're left trying to figure out how to get the exhaust from point A to point B without it hitting suspension components, frame rails, or anything else in the way.

This Nissan Xterra PRO-4X came to us with exactly that problem. The V8 was already in, but the exhaust situation needed a full retrofit to actually work with the new setup. No off-the-shelf kit was going to cut it here. We had to look at the whole undercarriage, figure out the routing, and build something from scratch that fit the vehicle the way it sits.

That's what custom exhaust fabrication is really about. It's not just bending pipe and calling it a day. It's knowing how the exhaust needs to flow, where it has to clear suspension and axle components, and how to tie everything together so it's solid and doesn't rattle loose down the road. Clean welds and proper routing matter a lot for long-term reliability - especially on a rig that's clearly built to get used.

The finished setup fits the Xterra the way it should. Good flow, clean fabrication, and nothing fighting the suspension. That's the difference between exhaust work done right and work that causes headaches six months later.
