Most Jeep owners want that aggressive exhaust note when they're out on the trail - but not necessarily when they're rolling through a neighborhood or sitting in a parking lot. That's the whole appeal of a remote exhaust cutout setup. You get full control over the sound without committing to one extreme or the other.
Here's what we were working with - a 4.0 Jeep YJ that already had some serious trail capability. The owner wanted a setup that matched the rest of the build. Not just a functional exhaust, but something that was fitted clean and tight to the chassis so it wasn't hanging down in the way or creating clearance problems off-road.
We fabbed and installed a remote 2-valve exhaust cutout that integrates directly into the exhaust system under the body. The valve setup lets the driver open or close the cutout on demand. Close it and you've got a normal, quiet exhaust note. Open it and the 4.0 straight-six gets to actually breathe. The difference is noticeable. The polished cutout hardware and the collar clamp are fitted snug against the pipe - no slop, no leaks, no rattling around on the rocks.
The tight fitment under this YJ matters more than it might on a street vehicle. When you're flexing over boulders and crawling through rough terrain, anything under the rig needs to be secure. That's not something you get from a generic bolt-on kit slapped in place. It takes custom exhaust fabrication and a solid understanding of how the vehicle actually moves.
If you've got a build in progress and want an exhaust setup that does more than just get the job done, this is the kind of work we do. Custom exhaust welding and fabrication - built around your rig, not just bolted onto it.
